I have been coming to TED for 14 years or so, and it's always an enjoyable, and totally consuming few days. But some of the sessions this year have risen to the best ever status. Last night, with Tracy Chapman singing the message about abuse, and Isabel Allende elegantly saying it was extremely moving.
As a lapsed academic, I always like hearing about new science and new frontiers, and the icons, geniuses mavericks theme this year works quite well. Now, listening to Sir Richard Branson talk about his wide range of experience and leadership, I remain amazed at the ability of Chris Anderson (In the Wurman tradition), to get together such a fantastic group of interesting people. And, as always, it is the serndipitous meetings with people I'd never come across that are the most fun.
I'm coming back!
