From Casablanca on to the Morgans in 2006, the statement remains true. This is one great city, no matter what I may think about some of their government's actions. We've had wonderful few days here. The newly reopened Orangerie at the Tuileries has the most spectacular display of Monet's water lilies tableaus. These are a 360 degree, 7-10 meter paintings that envelop the viewer and are a not to be missed experience.
And the food! Our favorite little Brasserie, L'Ardoise (the blackboard - which serves as the menu) held up very well. We highly recommend Le Christine in the 6th. But tonight, we just finished the tasting menu at L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon - one of the high priests of French cuisine. It truly was sublime - 9 perfect courses - each better and more concentrated flavor and subtlety than the previous one.
If you've never visited - come - if you have - come back. It's a wonderful place to renew love and life.
